Collection: Polishing Tools & Accessories

The small gear that keeps a polishing setup running properly — none of it does the cutting, but skip it and the wheels and compounds don't perform the way they should.

A buffing wheel rake cleans hardened compound and metal residue out of the wheel face and opens up the fibres again. A loaded-up wheel stops cutting and starts smearing, so raking between stages (and before switching compounds) is the difference between a clean finish and a hazy one. A high-speed backing plate is what your sanding discs mount to on the grinder or polisher, and needs to be rated for the speed you're running. The air blower clears dust, compound and water out of seams, fittings and checker plate before you polish or between stages, so you're not dragging grit back across a surface you've just cut.
