6″ Tight-Area Polishing Kit

Already polishing with 10″ wheels? This kit adds the smaller wheels for the spots where a 10″ wheel is too bulky to work comfortably — fuel tank ends, steps, toolbox corners, brackets and other truck components. Four 6″ airway wheels covering heavy cutting through to finishing, plus the 2″ safety flange set you need to mount them.

It is built as an add-on for customers who already have a polishing setup and their own compounds. Starting from scratch? Our Polishing Starter Kit is the complete starter option — wheels, compounds, flange and rake in one box.

Please note: compounds, arbour extension and wheel rake are not included and are sold separately. This kit also does not include sanding or surface preparation products.

What Each Wheel Does

Four wheels, one job each. The firmer the wheel, the harder the same compound cuts — so the wheel you pick changes the result as much as the bar you load it with.

Heavy Cutting — Red Heavy Cut Wheel
The firmest wheel in the kit. For the first, hardest stage on oxidised, marked or freshly sanded metal. Pairs with Menzerna 439T. Maximum speed 3,500 RPM.

Medium Cutting — Yellow Medium Cut Wheel
Softer than red. With 439T it gives a milder cut for metal that needs real work but not the hardest cut available; with P14F it refines the surface after the heavy cut. Maximum speed 3,500 RPM.

Polishing — Untreated Cotton Wheel
Softer again, and the most versatile wheel in the kit. It changes character with the compound you load: mild cutting with 439T, refining with P14F, or colouring and lifting haze with 480BLF. Maximum speed 3,500 RPM; around 2,200 RPM is a good starting speed with 480BLF.

Finishing — Flannel Finishing Wheel
The softest wheel in the kit. It cannot cut — it only finishes. Use 480BLF or P175 sparingly with light pressure for the final gloss. Maximum speed 1,800 RPM.

One compound per wheel, for life. Applying a different compound to a wheel that is already loaded contaminates the finish and undoes your finer stages. Label your wheels if you have to.

Mounting & Fit

All four wheels have 2″ centres and mount on the included small safety flange set — a CNC-machined, two-piece self-centring aluminium flange with an M14×2 thread. It keeps the wheel running true, with less vibration and consistent clamping across the wheel face. Maximum speed 3,500 RPM.

  • Check your machine before ordering. The flange needs an M14×2 spindle thread. Never exceed the lowest maximum speed rating of the wheel, flange or machine.
  • Check your clearance. A 6″ wheel gets into tighter spots than a 10″, but it will not suit every confined area. Check the space around the part — and around your grinder body and guard — before you start. The M14×2 Arbour Extension (sold separately) spaces the flange further out from the grinder for extra clearance.
  • Wear suitable eye, hearing and respiratory protection, and check every wheel and flange is securely mounted before each session.
